How sad that your chocolate went unmade!Ancelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02187869622200533544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3913275796633375635.post-74717329052032788902009-09-25T19:18:38.629-07:002009-09-25T19:18:38.629-07:00Bangchik,

There's two actually both of which attack the fruit but leaves the trees unharmed. There are only maybe two or three cacao plantations here, small farms really, all the others were abandoned in the 1970s. This farm was a cacao plantation. There are still many cacao trees and we harvest what we can, but most of the crop is lost to the blight. Oil palms, yes they are here in Costa Rica too.Ancelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02187869622200533544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3913275796633375635.post-38022545535618544072009-09-25T02:10:02.641-07:002009-09-25T02:10:02.641-07:00Oh yum! One question : how do you ferment the beans? <br />We used to grow cocoa but since no one had a clue how it had to be processed, a lot of good chocolate went un-made. What a pity!Sunita Mohan https://www.blogger.com/profile/16395671437601246093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3913275796633375635.post-39787840500780859622009-09-24T09:10:45.356-07:002009-09-24T09:10:45.356-07:00Nice post about making chocolate...
